Ce manuscrit est une copie très soignée des tacticiens grecs qu’Ange Vergèce a exécutée pour le roi Henri II. Elle a été établie à partir d’un manuscrit de travail, le Scor. Φ-III-2, que A. Dain appelle une « minute d’atelier », lui-même étant peut-être une forme mise au propre du Paris. gr. 2526 (voir Dain).Copié en 1549, ce codex a été enluminé la même année, et relié dans l’atelier de reliure royal de Fontainebleau. Il a été intégré à la collection royale dont il n’est jamais sorti. En 1550, il figure dans le catalogue publié par Ange Vergèce et Constantin Paleocappa sous le n. 12.
