La décoration des initiales, pourtant très limitée, indique comme origine la France du Nord. Le manuscrit a appartenu ensuite au Couvent des Carmes de la place Maubert (cf. Omont, Anciens inventaires, IV, p. 367, n° 19) et entra à la bibliothèque royale le 29 octobre 1672 avec les autres manuscrits des Carmes.Au f. 1r, les cotes anciennes ont été reportées : « 90 » et « 3776 » (Clément), suivies par la cote actuelle « 1962 ».
