Le manuscrit a été produit à Saint-Pierre de Corbie ; l’appartenance à cette abbaye est attestée par l’identification de ce ms. dans le troisième inventaire de l’abbaye de Corbie, du XIIe siècle (cf. Delisle, Cabinet des Manuscrits, II, p. 435, n° 109, « Super Lamentationes Jheremie ») et par l’ex-libris inscrit au recto du feuillet de garde supérieure (« Liber sancti Petri Corbeie », XIIIe siècle). Le volume est passé ensuite à l’abbaye de Saint-Germain-des-Prés (cf. l’ex-libris du f. 1r, « Sancti Germani a Pratis », et les cotes anciennes, « olim 293 » et « N. 824 ») et entra à la Bibliothèque Nationale entre décembre 1795 et février 1796, avec d'autres manuscrits de Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Mention du contenu du XVIIIe siècle au f. 1r.
Ms. restauré en 2017 grâce au mécénat de la Fondation Polonsky (dossier BnF 2018-041509-01).
