Ce manuscrit a fait partie de la bibliothèque du cardinal Ridolfi où, d’après l’inventaire du Par. gr. 3074 et du Vat. gr. 1567, il portait le numéro 29 parmi les manuscrits de texte poétique. Cette cote est visible dans l’angle supérieur externe du premier folio de garde antérieure, en chiffres arabes, et au centre de ce même folio en chiffres romains. Le πίναξ de Matthieu Devaris se lit sur ce même folio.Après la disparition du cardinal, les manuscrits de sa bibliothèque sont transmis à Pierre Strozzi puis à la reine Catherine de Médicis. La cote 78, visible sur le plat supérieur, date de cette époque. La bibliothèque de Catherine de Médicis est intégrée dans la Bibliothèque royale, après l’achat de Henri IV, en 1599.
