Les f. 1-66 proviennent des Carmes de Clermont (cf. Dolbeau, Anciens possesseurs, p. 210). Les manuscrits des Carmes de Clermont furent probablement incorporés dans la bibliothèque de Jean-Baptiste Colbert avant 1690 (cf. Delisle, Cabinet des manuscrits, I, p. 482) ; la collection de Colbert entra dans la bibliothèque du roi en septembre 1732.Les cotes anciennes sont repostée par la même main sur le f. 1r : « Cod. Colb. 5463 » et « Regius 4177.5 » (marge supérieure), « 4177.5 » et « 5594 » (marge inférieure).
