Selon l'ex-libris au f. 1 : "Ex legato bone memorie deffunti magistri Petri de Brena quondam doctoris in decretis.", ce manuscrit a appartenu à Petrus de Brena (mort en 1446), originaire de Langres, décrétiste de l'Université de Paris qui fut notamment doyen de la faculté (cf. Laurent Tournier, "Notices biographiques des ambassadeurs, porte-parole et députés de l'université de Paris au XVe siècle", p. 44.)Il en fit don à la bibliothèque de l'Abbaye de Saint-Victor de Paris dont l'ex-libris figure également au premier feuillet (cf. L. Delisle, II, p. 219).
