Le manuscrit a été produit à l’abbaye Saint-Maur-des-Fossés et il a fait partie de sa bibliothèque jusqu’au XVIIe siècle (cf. la cote ancienne au f. 1r, « S. Mauri Fossat. 37 »). Il est passé ensuite à l’abbaye de Saint-Germain-des-Prés (cf. au f. 1r l’ex-libris, « Ex libris monasterii sancti Germani à Pratis Parisiorum » et les cotes anciennes « N. 135 » et « olim 1059 » ; cf. également Bertrand de Montfaucon, Bibliotheca Bibliothecarum, II, 1739, p. 1141-1143 : « 37. 1059. Anonymi in Psalmos »). Le volume entra dans la Bibliothèque Nationale entre décembre 1795 et février 1796, avec les autres manuscrits de Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Signe de classement « .p. » inscrit en haut à droite du f. 1 (fin XIIe siècle).
