  • Manuscript 521, dating from the fourteenth century, contains Elements by Euclid (3rd century B.C.). It was owned by Ten Duinen Abbey. Elements is a mathematical treatise, used as a foundation for the study of mathematics. Manuscript 521 contains a Latin translation of Elements by Gerard of Cremona (1114 - 1187). In the manuscript, Gerard's translation also includes book 14 and 15. These book were written by Hypsicles (2nd century B.C.). The manuscript also includes the book bundle Computus and Algorismus by Johannes de Sacrobosco (d. 1256-). A calendarium with moon cycles was added in the book bundle. [Summary by Sarah Vanroye]
