Ce manuscrit, copié au XIVe siècle et restauré au tout début du XVe siècle, a appartenu à la famille Barbaro , à Venise. On sait qu’il a ensuite appartenu au poète français Germain de Brie, comme le montre l’ex-libris qui se trouve au centre du f. 1r. Après quoi, on retrouve ce manuscrit dans la bibliothèque de la famille De Mesmes, initiée par Jean-Jacques et Henri de Mesmes. Les manuscrits grecs de cette bibliothèque sont passés, après donation par la duchesse de Vivonne, fille de Henri de Mesmes, à Jean-Baptiste Colbert, en 1679. Les manuscrits de Colbert ont été intégrés à la Bibliothèque royale à partir de 1732. La cote 2787.3 a alors été attribuée à ce manuscrit par l’abbé de Targny, chargé du département des manuscrits de la Bibliothèque du roi jusqu’en 1737. Cette cote fut éphémère puisque l’actuelle cote date de 1740.
