La première unité codicologique est probablement originaire du Nord de la France, d’après l’attention portée à certains saints d’origine anglaise ; la deuxième provient vraisemblablement de Cambrai, d’après François Dolbeau (« Anciens posseusseurs... ») ; la troisième porte plusieurs marques, de première et de deuxième main, de l’abbaye de Mouzon. Le volume ainsi composé a appartenu à Étienne Baluze (1630-1718) : sa collection fut livrée le 19 septembre 1719 à l’abbé Bignon et entra ainsi dans la Bibliothèque du roi. Sur la marge supérieure du f. 1r, cote ancienne non identifiée : « IX.xx IX » (189).
