Ce manuscrit a fait partie de la bibliothèque de la famille De Mesmes, initiée par Jean-Jacques et Henri de Mesmes. Dans l’angle supérieur interne du f. 1r, il porte la mention, en toutes lettres, « dix-sept ». Cette cotation se retrouve dans tous les manuscrits que la duchesse de Vivonne, fille de Henri de Mesmes, a offerts à Jean-Baptiste Colbert, en 1679. Les manuscrits de la bibliothèque de Colbert ont été intégrés à la Bibliothèque royale à partir de 1732. La cote 2205.3 a alors été attribuée à ce manuscrit par l’abbé de Targny, chargé du département des manuscrits de la Bibliothèque du roi jusqu’en 1737. Cette cote fut éphémère puisque l’actuelle cote date de 1740.
