Le Parisinus gr. 2770, copié à la fin du XVe siècle par Démétrios Chalcocondyle, a fait partie des collections du cardinal Niccolò Ridolfi où il portait la cote 61 parmi les mélanges grecs. Dans la marge supérieure du f. 1r a été inscrite deux fois en chiffres arabes la cote 22 (dont une fois en post correctionem) et deux fois la cote 38, également en chiffres arabes. Contrairement à ce que l’on observe habituellement dans les manuscrits ayant appartenu au cardinal Ridolfi, on ne trouve nulle part le pinax de Matthieu Devaris, son bibliothécaire.Après la disparition du cardinal, les manuscrits de sa bibliothèque sont transmis à Pierre Strozzi puis à la reine Catherine de Médicis. La bibliothèque de Catherine de Médicis est intégrée dans la Bibliothèque royale, après l’achat de Henri IV, en 1599.
