Le manuscrit a été copié et utilisé dans une abbaye bénédictine dédiée à Saint-Maur, très probablement Saint-Maur-des-Fossés d’après l’office des f. 54v-56v. Il a appartenu à Etienne Baluze (1630-1718) (cf. cote ancienne au f. 1r, « Baluze 491 ») ; à la mort de Baluze, sa bibliothèque passa à Madame Le Maire, qui fit imprimer le catalogue en 1719 (Bibliotheca Baluziana). Les livres imprimés furent vendus en détail, alors que la collection des manuscrits fut achetée par la Bibliothèque Royale et livrée à l’abbé Bignon le 19 septembre 1719 (cf. cote ancienne au f. 1r, « Regius 4184 »).
