Origine: italienne, écriture humanistiques rondes. D’après un renseignement communiqué par A. C. de la Mare, le manuscrit est l’oeuvre de trois copistes: le premier (f. 1-110) a également copié le ms. Pal. lat. 1483 (cf. infra); le second (f. 111-154) a aussi copié les mss. Pal. lat. 1603 et 1605; le troisième (f. 154-159) a écrit le ms. Pal. lat. 1029.
