Cahiers : 1-2910, non signés, sans réclames. Aux f. 1, 33, 65 v°, 102, 133, 163, 188, 212, 235 v° et 263 v°, initiales d’or à « bianchi girari », celle du f. 133 ornée d’une tête d’animal et d’un oiseau perché sur l’une des volutes, titres en capitales mauves, titres courants et manchettes rubriqués, numérotation des différents livres rubriquée en chiffres romains au milieu de la marge sup. de chaque feuillet.

Origine : italienne, florentine, écriture humanistique ronde. Le copiste Iohannes Andreae de Colonia acheva le manuscrit à Florence en 1425 pour Cosme Ier de Médicis (1389-1464) et signe au f. 290 : « IOHANNES A. FI. CLARISSIMO ATQVE OPTVMO VIRO COSMO MEDICI EX VETVSTISSIMO EXEMPLARI HOC OPVS TRANSCRIPSIT ANNO .D. MCCCC XXV. FLORENTIAE ».
Possesseur : Cosme Ier de Médicis, pour qui le manuscrit a été exécuté (cf. supra Origine) ainsi que le manuscrit Besançon, Bibl. mun. 839, cf. infra ; le cardinal Antoine Perrenot de Granvelle († 1586), d’après la cote ancienne « Y.12.54 » dans la marge sup. du f. I; François Perrenot de Granvelle († 1607), comte de Cantecroy, qui a signé dans la marge sup. du f. I v° : « Granvele. C. de Cantecroy ». Jean-Baptiste Boisot (1638-1694), abbé de Saint-Vincent de Besançon, d’après l’ex-libris dans la marge sup. du f. I v° : « Ex Bibliotheca Joannis Baptistae Boisot Visontini Prioris de Grandecourt et de La Loye » et la cote dans la marge sup. du f.
