Ce manuscrit est issu de la collection du cardinal Mazarin. Il dépend du Paris. suppl. gr 387, qui aux XVIè siècle se trouvait en Italie dans la bibliothèque d'Alberto Pio di Carpi († 1531), puis dans celle de son neveu, le cardinal Rodolfo Pio († 1564), avant d’être intégré à la collection d’Este à Modène. Le f. 1r porte la mention Ex Bibliotheca Cardinalis Mazarini, par la même main qui a ajouté un index au verso de la garde supérieure et le titre en haut du f.1r.A la mort du cardinal en 1661, sa bibliothèque est léguée au Collège Des Quatre-Nations, mais ce manuscrit fait partie du lot de 229 manuscrits grecs qu’en 1668 Colbert fit échanger entre la bibliothèque du Collège et celle du Roi. On le retrouve sous le numéro 1478 dans le catalogue établi par Carcavy (NAF 5763 f. 215r, voir Omont.)
