Copié à Rome en 1457, ce manuscrit appartient d’abord à Gaspare Zacchi da Volterra, protonotaire apostolique, avant de trouver le chemin de la bibliothèque du marchand et érudit Janus Lascaris, avant d’entrer dans la collection mathématique de la bibliothèque du Cardinal Ridolfi. L’élève de Lascaris et bibliothécaire du Cardinal Ridolfi, Matthieu Devaris, a validé l’index de Volterra (Ir) en y ajoutant :~ καὶ πλέον οὐδέν. Au-dessus de cette inscription, « n°10 quinta », cote du manuscrit dans la collection Ridolfi. Elle est répétée juste en dessous de l’index sous la forme « n° 20 – κ’ ». On trouve ensuite le monogramme de Lascaris, biffé, avec la mention « della quarta ».Juste sous le mot « TABULA », le numéro 942.Après la mort du cardinal, la bibliothèque passe à Pietro Strozzi, qui la fait venir en France, et de là à Catherine de Médicis.La bibliothèque de la Reine est finalement déposée, après sa mort en 1589, dans un cabinet de la bibliothèque royale de Fontainebleau. Sur l’inventaire de décès de la Reine (Paris. lat. 14359 ff. 457r-482r), il porte le n. 910. En 1594, la bibliothèque de Catherine de Médicis est intégrée à celle du roi.
