L'écriture ainsi que le décor, font de ce ms. un produit du Xe s.; il n'a pas été retenu par Bischoff dans sa liste préliminaire au 3e vol. (posthume) de son Katalog des festländischen Handschriften des neunten Jahrhunderts [en préparation], traitant des ms. conservés à Paris. Selon Porcher, 1954, le dessin f. 18 fournit un argument stylistique qui permettrait de localiser la production du ms. «entre le Tarn et le Lot, vers la fin du Xe s.», peut-être à Albi.
