"Moi, Moïse ha-Cohen fils de rabbi Salomon ha-Cohen, j'ai écrit cette Bible pour le Grand, le fort, le très éminent prince notre maître Todros ha-Lévi que Dieu le protège, fils de son excellence, le grand, le fort et le très éminent prince notre maître Méïr ha-Lévi, que son âme soit reliée au faisceau des vivants. Je l'ai achevée à la fin du premier mois de adar 4967 à Burgos (Espagne), et qu'il puisse en l'étudiatn faire s'accomplir pour lui et pour ses enfants, et les enfants de ses enfants, ce que dit le verset (Isaïe XLIX, 21) : "Quant à moi dit l'Eternel, voici quel est mon pacte avec eux : mon inspiration qui repose sur toi, et les paroles que j'ai mises en ta bouche, elle ne doivent point s'écarter de ta bouche, ni de la bouche de tes enfants, ni de celle des enfants de tes enfants, soit à présent, soit dans les temps futurs"
