Résumé : The version of Aristotle's Politics in CCCC MS 398 is a new translation by the Italian humanist Leonardo Bruni (1369-1444) commissioned by Humphrey, Duke of Gloucester (1390-1447) in 1433/4. It has fine illuminated ornamental borders by an English artist, and may have been written by an English scribe copying the Italian manuscript of the translation sent to Humphrey from Italy.
