Ce manuscrit provient de Saint-Martial de Limoges. Sur le contreplat, billet de papier collé, appartenant à la reliure précédente et portant la mention du contenu (XVIIe siècle) : « Cod. 70. Breviarium ad usum mon. S. Martialis, pars hiemalis, script. circa an. 1100. Fol. 13 habetur legenda S. Valeriae virginis ». L'ancienne cote « 70 » est reportée également sur un billet de papier collé au f. 144v.Le manuscrit entra dans la Bibliothèque royale en 1730 avec le reste du fond de Saint-Martial.
