Manuscript 1 contains the full text of the Vulgate Bible, copied in the thirteenth century. Some pages have since been removed, including the first leaf of Genesis and the last leaf of Numeri, The text is copied in two columns and structured with decorated initials and chapter numbers alternately in red and blue, and rubrics. In this it resembles the decoration found in mid-thirteenth century-Bibles produced in Northern France. The last folia (ff. 371r-391v) contain the Interpretationes Hebraicorum nominum, a list of all Hebrew names found in the Bible with additional explanations. This last text is attributed to Remigius of Auxerre (Remigius Altissiodorensis; d. 908), a French Benedictine monk and grammar teacher. It was a popular text, found both as part of a Bible as well as separate texts. The decoration is similar to that of the books of the Bible, while the text is structured in three columns.
